Penn State alumni and supporters have been very generous in the distant past and might be convinced to be so again.
- I wonder how much money is generated by the Nittany Lion Club (forced) donations?
- Like others, I believe the University completely mishandled the Sandusky issue by blaming the one man who had done more for the school than anyone else. That is unforgivable.
- The university is responsible for, among other things, preparing their students for life in the real world. The university is not the real world. Athletics seem to be taking over the university’s priorities.
Money would be better spent making tuition more affordable. It would be better spent on updating the dorms.
Until the PSU BOT and Administration address the false narrative they generated after the Sandusky scandal (i.e., that it was a “football” problem) they will struggle to attract donations. I stopped giving in 2011 and will never give them another penny until they correct their past mistakes.
